I am the premier provider of traveling piano lessons in Ashburn, including private piano lessons, children's piano lessons, music instruction and music lessons. I am one of the few highly qualified, expert and professional Ashburn piano teachers. I am also the first traveling piano Ashburn teacher to form her own independent traveling music company. I am also an expert flute teacher in Ashburn, VA, and have flute students who participate in Fairfax County District Band, Loudoun Solo and Ensemble Festival, Fairfax Solo and Ensemble Festival and Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM). I am a classically trained musician with two music degrees from accredited universities in the United States. I have a BA in flute performance from UCLA and an MM in piano pedagogy and performance from George Mason University. Aside from my extensive educational background, I have attended numerous piano festivals where I received partial and full tuition scholarships, including Brevard Music Center and Las Vegas Music Festival. I have participated in master classes with James Giles, Mykola Suk and Vladimir Feltsman. I have attended numerous piano and flute workshops to enhance my teaching skills and received a $900 teacher enrichment grant from the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) in 2004. I attended the prestigious SUNY (State University of New York)-New Paltz Piano Festival in 2009, where I received private piano lessons from Vladimir Feltsman, Susan Starr and Robert Roux. Most recently, I attended the 2013 Washington International Piano Festival held at Catholic University in DC. I received private piano lessons from Dr. Ivo Kaltchev (Catholic University of America (CUA)), Nikita Fitenko (CUA), Li-Ly Cheng (MD), Yuri Didenko (Moscow Conservatory), and Hae-Young Kim (South Korea). Additionally, I was selected to perform in a master class with Brian Ganz and selected by audition to perform at the Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage on August 2, 2013. You can view my performance at the Kennedy Center on my website. I provide piano lessons for the younger beginner, classical piano lessons, kids piano lessons, children's piano lessons, keyboard classes, music lessons for kids, intermediate piano lessons, advanced piano lessons and private piano lessons in your home in all areas of Ashburn (20147, 20148) Ashburn Farm, Ashburn Village, Broadlands, Belmont Country Club, Belmont Ridge, Belmont Hunt, Belmont Chase, Belmont Greene, Belmont Meadows, Loudoun Valley, Loudoun Valley Estates, Moreland Estates, Moorefield Station, Sterling (20166), Loudoun Valley Overlook (20166), Countryside (20165), Potomac Falls (20165), and Great Falls (22066), VA. Additionally, I provide keyboard classes for kids in Ashburn (20147, 20148), Sterling (20166), Potomac Falls (20165) and Great Falls (22066). Piano students must possess a digital piano with 88 weighted keys and at least two pedals. An acoustic piano is highly recommended for those wishing to participate in festivals and competitions. There needs to be a certain amount of resistance in pushing down piano keys in order to properly train and strengthen the fingers. This process can not be accomplished on a keyboard. Music lessons take place in a stress-free environment -- your home-where your child can relax and focus. View clips of my performances and my student's performances at my website. Students who join Love's Music Lessons will develop proper piano technique. Mrs. Love is a patient, friendly and caring Ashburn piano teacher who specializes in teaching young children and adults. Although I am patient, I am also strict enough to focus on strong basics such as learning to read the notes in treble and bass clef and playing with correct rhythm. I can teach all ages and levels, especially the younger beginner. I can teach students as young as 4 years old provided that the parents are actively involved in the learning process. Parents must be willing to sit with the younger beginner while they practice for the first six months of piano lessons. I also provide piano lessons twice per week for the younger beginner for a period of six months. Lessons twice a week are provided at a reduced rate for parents who are serious about their child's progress. Mrs. Love received piano training from Dr. Ana Balakerskaia, piano faculty at George Mason University and Darya Gabay, both of whom were graduates of the St. Petersburg Conservatory in Russia. Mrs. Love also studied with Julie Hahn, NCTM, who graduated with Masters degrees from the Peabody Conservatory and Catholic University. Mrs. Love focuses on note-reading, sound, technique, rhythm and emphasizes the Russian school of piano playing repertoire and technique materials are drawn from Peskanov and other Russian masters. Emphasis is placed on hand and wrist position, developing firm fingertips, maintaining a relaxed wrist and using the wrists to improve technical facility. Rotation of the wrists is of utmost importance in playing Beethoven, Haydn, and Mozart piano sonatas. Improper piano technique such as flat fingers and hands that are not level with the keys can lead to injuries later in life and slow down a beginner's progress. Scales and technical exercises are assigned on a weekly basis to strengthen the fingers. Etudes by numerous piano masters are assigned for beginners up through advanced level piano students. Piano students may explore a variety of repertoire, but I primarily focus on classical piano repertoire as this develops the skills to play any genre of music beautifully. Piano students are required to learn major and minor scales, the corresponding chord progressions and cadences, which are highlighted in classical, jazz, and popular music. Music theory, ear training, sight-reading, and transposition are provided for beginning to advanced students who take a 45-minute lesson. Flute students will learn how to develop a pure sound using the support of their diaphragm. A comprehensive flute lesson includes tone exercises, vibrato exercises, etudes to develop sight-reading skills, major and minor scales to develop technique, and flute repertoire from the Baroque, classical, and contemporary eras. I also have my students play duets, which are fun and enlightening. Flute students are encouraged to audition for All District Band in Loudoun County, and participate in Loudoun County Solo and Ensemble Festival. Mrs. Love provides reduced piano accompanist rates for Solo and Ensemble Festival in Loudoun County and Solo and Ensemble Festival in Fairfax County (District 12). Recital and performance opportunities are provided for students who desire to work towards a goal or perform in front of a live audience. Love's Music Lessons, LLC holds an annual studio recital where students have an opportunity to showcase their talents. Mrs. Love is a member of Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), Virginia Music Teachers Association (VMTA), Northern Virginia Music Teachers Association (NVMTA), National Federation of Music Clubs (NFMC)- Falls Church Spring Festival, National Guild of Piano Teachers (NGPT), Fairfax-Loudoun Music Fellowship (FLMF), and Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM). These organizations offer competitive and noncompetitive events for students who desire to reach their ultimate potential in music.(show more)

I am willing to teach anyone who is willing to learn something new and interesting about music. - - I have 11 years experience in playing guitar. - My lessons tend to incorporate knowledge of other instruments, such as piano, drums, and bass guitar; this blend is there to show how multiple instruments can influence each other (such as, a band or an orchestra). - - I teach private lessons in the Germantown area. - The music genres that I teach often are contemporary jazz, alternative (singer/songwriter), folk, and rock. I have noticed that a lot of the songs I taught came mostly from the alternative/adult alternative genre (such as 3 Doors Down). - -My most notable venues are when I played at The W Hotel in DC and The Mansion on O Street.(show more)
RockMeGuitars is a fun, energy-packed and safe environment where kids are encouraged to love God, music, their band members, and their electric guitar or bass. Our desire is to partner with parents to teach kids (6 and up) basic music skills using technology, rock, blues and worship, and this to serve as foundation for their musical growth and performances in their lives. Music as a language is our priority. The Method 1) Music is a language...... By: Victor Wooten. Both music and verbal languages serve the same purpose. They are both forms of expression. They can be used as a way to communicate with others, they can be read and written, then can make you laugh or cry, think or question and can speak to one or many and both can definitely make you move. "Music works better than the spoken word because it doesn't have to be understood to be effective." In some instances, music works better than the spoken word because it doesn't have to be understood to be effective. Although many musicians agree that music is a "language" it is rarely treated as such. Many of us treat it as something that can only be learned by following a strict regiment under the tutelage of a skilled teacher. This approach has been followed for hundreds of years with proven success... But it takes a long time. Too long. Think about the first language you learned as a child. More importantly, think about how you learned it. "You were allowed to make mistakes." You were a baby when you first started speaking and even though you spoke the language incorrectly you were allowed to make mistakes - and the more mistakes you made, the more your parents smiled! Learning to speak was not something you were sent somewhere to do only a few times a week. The majority of people you spoke to were not beginners, they were already proficient speakers. Imagine your parents forcing to only speak to other babies until you were good enough to speak to them! You'd probably be an adult before you could carry on a proper conversation. To use a musical term, as a baby you were allowed to "jam" with professionals. If we approach music in the same natural way we approached our first language, we would learn to speak it in the same short time it took to speak our first language. Proof of this can be seen in almost any family where a child grows up with other musicians in the family. Here are a few keys to follow in learning guitar or bass: In the beginning we embrace mistakes instead of correcting them. Like a child playing air guitar there are no wrong notes. Allow young musicians to play and perform with accomplished musicians on a daily basis. Encourage young musicians to play more than they practice. The more they play, the more they will practice on their own. Music comes from the musician, not the instrument. 2) RockSmith 2014 becomes your personal accomplished musician or band for you to play in a daily basis as it monitors how you play, dynamically adjusts difficulty to your skill level, then slowly introduces more notes and phrases until you're playing your favorite songs note-for-note. Lead Rhythm and bass lines. Rocksmith 2014 teaches you fast and effectively by letting you plug any real guitar or bass directly into your Xbox 360 games and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation3 computer entertainment system, Windows PC or Mac. The Rocksmith Method will first make sure you can PLAY the instrument. You will play your favorite songs. You will learn a new technique every month. Rocksmith is designed to match the way your guitar is laid out, so there's no need to interpret tablature or learn sheet music to get started. Have strings on your guitar? You'll see strings on the screen.... You'll need a game console, a screen and a electric guitar or bass. It's non negotiable. If you don't have it. I will provide you with a loaner system until you catch up. 3) A dedicated and passionate Teacher to tie everything together and keep you on track. The early you start, the better. Kids age 6 or up are my best customers. They don't have adjust to anything other than to get their little fingers around a guitar appropriate to their size. For young adults and people that tried play the guitar the old fashion way, here's my advise: You will need to take a step back... or maybe two steps. Let me show you a better way. These 3 things changes everything in how to learn or teach guitar. This is just to start the journey. I won't even mention custom songs or our musician club for you to perform your songs. "If music is a language. You should never stop talking." Remember that a language works the best when we have something interesting to say. Many music teachers never find out what their students have to say. We only tell them what they are supposed to say. A child speaks a language for years before they even learn the alphabet. Too many rules at the onset will actually slow them down. In my eyes the approach to music should be the same. After all, music is a language too. Let's Play & Grow Together. $5 Monthly - Group Session (Student comes to me) $20 Monthly - Small Band Session (Student comes to me) $30 Private Lessons 60 Minutes (I will go to student's home) Private guitar and bass lessons are designed for students to progress at their own pace. Private lessons will follow the same RockSmith Journey structure. In a private guitar or bass lesson, the teacher has the opportunity to help the student individually for the entire lesson time, and structures each lesson personally for the student depending on their skill level and goals.
